NCFIL: Setting Our Vision In Motion

The upfitting of the NCFIL facility is nearly complete, so our vision and mission for the future can begin to be realized. Our vision is to be a recognized leader for economic enhancement through the application of food technology in the transformation of raw agricultural commodities to value-added products. 

Ultimately, our mission is to encourage a collaborative environment where academic scientists partner with industry, entrepreneurs and government stakeholders to accelerate plant-based food research, development and commercialization. These efforts support the entrepreneurial spirit within the state and enhance the direct recruitment of food businesses to North Carolina.

Our goal is to stimulate growth in agricultural crops in North Carolina and increase the scope and size of food manufacturing in North Carolina.
