Making Memore: NCFIL Featured in Salisbury Post
The NC Food Innovation Lab (NCFIL) was recently featured in “Making Memore: Entrepreneurs harness power of Kannapolis’ Food Innovation Lab” in the Salisbury Post, a long-running publication sharing news from Salisbury, NC.
Perseverance Pays Off
The article features NCFIL’s partnership with Erika and Brad Lepczyk, a Charlotte couple motivated to create a whole foods powdered beverage mix intended to boost cognitive function. The new product, called Memore, hit grocery shelves in May. “Anytime a product developer and in our case a customer of ours gets a product into the market, we feel especially proud to have helped them get there,” says Bill Aimutis, executive director of NCFIL.
Getting there wasn’t easy as the team had to navigate delays due to COVID in addition to the long process of refining flavor profiles using purely whole foods. However, the couple is happy with the final product and their process to remain “truthful to [their] virtues” with the hope of making an “impact in a crucial area like brain health.”
